Project Overview
Our team recently completed an Asbestos Management Survey at a school in Braintree, Essex. This survey was conducted to identify and assess any asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) within the building, ensuring the safety of students, staff, and maintenance personnel.

Findings
The survey revealed a few areas with ACMs, including:
- Textured Ceiling Coatings: Found in older classroom blocks, though in good condition.
- Cement Roofing Sheets: Identified in one of the utility buildings on-site.
- Pipe Insulation: Asbestos-containing materials were found on older heating pipes in a storage area.
Each ACM was evaluated for its condition and the risk of disturbance during regular school activities or maintenance work.
Outcome and Recommendations
We provided the school management with a detailed report that included:
- ACM Locations and Conditions: A clear inventory of all identified asbestos materials and their current condition.
- Risk Assessment: Evaluations of any risks posed by the ACMs under normal use.
- Management Plan: Practical recommendations for safely managing the ACMs, including regular monitoring and guidance on safe maintenance practices to prevent disturbance.
The report ensured the school could confidently maintain a safe environment for students and staff while complying with all legal requirements.
